John, with some help from Sam, finished strengthening the dormers, added insulation and squeezed the three new windows into place and added the new tongue-and-groove paneling above and to the side of the windows. All credit to John, what looked like an easy job turned into a week-plus of problem solving, sweat (the sun beat down in an Indian summer), and occasional Anglo-Saxon.

Modestly, I added the first undercoat to the woodwork and sides of the dormers.
